Hold up! Bargain weekend news coming your way!
Uber will celebrate its 100,000th trip in Leicester this weekend and to start the celebrations they’re offering free travel in the city this weekend to all new and existing users of the app.
Yep, free travel, ALL WEEKEND from Thursday 14th April at 4pm to Sunday 17th April at 4pm.
During this period anyone using the Uber app in the city will get £10 off their ride, making rides under £10 completely free. Users can take a maximum of ten free rides over the weekend and Uber is covering the full cost of the promotion to ensure drivers benefit from all the extra trips.
This means that a trip from Leicester Station to King Power Stadium (which would have cost around £3.75) will be free, and from the University of Leicester to the National Space Centre (which would have cost around £6.00) will cost nothing. A trip that would have cost £12 will now cost £2.
Since launching in Leicester just a few months ago the city has embraced Uber with thousands of people using the app to get a convenient, safe and affordable ride at the push of a button. Hundreds of licensed private hire drivers have also become their own bosses by signing up to drive with the Uber app.
