Do you love fashion and music? Well then you won’t want to miss Thursday’s WeAreTex event, being held at LCB Depot at part of Design Season.
Born from a desire to showcase the hidden talents of Leicester’s fashion creatives, WeArTex brings these to the forefront of their events. Event curators Jordan Birtles and Ruby Eva both have long-standing links with the city’s creative community and recognised a raft of designers that they believe deserved to be seen on a more open stage.
What’s more on Thursday not only will you be able to see the talent on display but you’ll be able to buy the products as well. Independent sellers include Birdie Grace, Silly Girl Club, Good Girl Gang, Silly Girl Club, Chase’s Closet, M.I.A Technical and more. Plus there’ll be food & drink available throughout the evening, as well as some great music.
Ruby commented, “Leicester has so much talent across a number of areas, but in terms of fashion I’m constantly amazed at discovering these amazing designers who work from home or small studios, creating the most wonderful pieces. So many of the brands people may have seen on social media, or spotted people wearing but they have no idea that they’re being designed and made by someone here in Leicester.”
Jordan, who is also a member of Leicester’s high flying band, Easy Life, added, “Fashion and music are our two biggest passions. Through We Ar Tex we’re able to bring these together and showcase some unique talent to the public. Our event during Design Season will be great fun and we hope everyone will join us to discover some new brands, enjoy some fine tunes and join us for a few drinks.”
The WeArTex event runs from 6pm – 10pm on Thursday 13 September at LCB Depot and is free to attend.
