With the summer coming up there’s even more reason to get out and see the events that are on in the city. If you’ve got little ones then here’s our pick of the top family events during the rest of June.

Animal Stories: Launch Weekend
Saturday 25th June & Sunday 26th June
11.00am – 5.00pm
New Walk Museum & Art Gallery
£2.50 for activities

Head on down to New Walk Museum for the launch of their Animal Stories summer exhibition. Enjoy stories about animals from all over the world and browse the museum’s collection of animal related artifacts, which include animal puppets crafted by the Kingfisher Community Group. Children of all ages can participate in activities ranging from face painting, cartoon caricatures and paper crafts, to telling their own favourite stories about animals. Kyle Campbell with Jigabytes will be there, so pre-booking is recommended!

The exhibition is supporting the RSPB’s campaign to Save the Albatross. Bring along all of your used stamps to hand in and support this endangered species. Click HERE for more information.

 

Fairies and Elves Weekend
June 25th & 26th
West Lodge Rural Centre
Back Lane
Desborough

This award winning farm park is hosting a magical Fairies and Elves weekend. Enter a world of wings, glitter and fairy dust. Children can participate in a fairy trail, wand making and face painting. Fancy dress is a must!

You will also be able to meet and learn about the range of farm animals. Walk through the conservation area in woods, meadows, ponds and streams enjoying the wildlife on your way! There is lovely café on site, which serves delicious homemade cakes.
