Take some time to support charity through cinema this Christmas. Yes, Phoenix  is giving away tickets to their annual charity screening of It’s a Wonderful Life on Friday 13th December in return for donations to Leicester charity Action Homeless.

Donations can be anything from toiletries to non-perishable foods (pasta, tinned goods) and they can be brought into Phoenix’s Box Office at any time, including on Friday before the screening.

The donations will be distributed by Action Homeless to homeless and vulnerable people around Leicester in time for Christmas. A full list of suggested donations can be found at phoenix.org.uk/donation-screening.

James Riviere from Action Homeless said, “Last year we received over 1,000 worth of donations from Phoenix customers, which made a huge difference to many individuals and families facing homelessness at Christmas. However, since last year’s donation screening, demand for our support has increased by 35% so we need more support than ever before.”

In return for their help, cinema-goers can enjoy one of the best Christmas films of all time. Frank Capra’s timeless ode to family, community and the power of redemption is a strong contender for the greatest movie ever made.

The screening takes place at Phoenix at 7.30pm on Friday 13 December. Elsewhere during December at Phoenix you can enjoy The Muppet Christmas Carol (14 – 16 December), Home Alone (19 December), Frozen 2 (20 – 31 December) and Die Hard (21 December).
