As the hospitality and hotel industry re-opens in July many people are looking towards a UK staycation instead of trips abroad.
Mallory Meadows is located in Kirkby Mallory, Leicestershire and has re-opening bookings for this summer across their lodges and pet-friendly accommodation (hot tubs included in some of them, too!). We caught up with the owners to find out how plans are going for what will hopefully be a busy summer.
For anyone who isn’t familiar with Mallory Meadows, tell us a little about your site and accommodation.
Mallory Meadows is owned and managed by myself and my husband Chris, along with our 3 children. We have 6 unique cedar clad holiday cabins offering open plan accommodation. All have private hot tubs for guests to relax in the meadows land setting. We are Perfectly situated close to Market Bosworth for exploring, walking and visiting the villages and towns. Only a 20 minute drive to Leicester City Centre. Of course, we’re pet friendly too!
How have the last few weeks been waiting for advice from the government on re-opening?
Quiet, we have missed our lovely guests, but have been keeping ourselves busy with some general maintenance and home school!
When will you be re-opening and what changes can people expect on site?
We are opening on the 6th July, all our units are self contained and we don’t have any central facilities. There will be a few minor tweaks, earlier check out and slightly later check in times to allow us the time to sanitise and deep clean between guests, hand sanitiser stations, and contactless check ins and check outs. We still aim to meet and great our guests but at a safe distance, and adhering to Government guidelines.
Do you think we’ll see a surge in popularity for the British staycation?
We do hope so! Bookings are strong, and we are doing everything we can to build guest confidence and minimise any risk to them and ourselves.
What’s your favourite thing about running Mallory Meadows?
There are two, firstly hearing about our guests adventures that is just relaxing in the cabin enjoying the meadowland And all the nature or exploring the many beautiful parts of Leicestershire. And secondly getting to work from home with my family.
What do you think it is about glamping and holiday parks that’s proved so popular with families and holiday makers over recent years?
I think reconnecting with the great outdoors is essential to our well being, waking up to birdsong, feasting our eyes on green spaces and enjoying a slower pace is appealing. Mallory meadows offers all this along with the mod cons of free WiFi, central heating for the winter months and private spaces and facilities.
Where are some of your favourite spots to visit in Leicestershire?
Ooooh, that’s a tricky question, I think everyone’s favourite has to be Bradgate park, we like to go early and head up and off the beaten paths, Sutton Cheney canal and the Bosworth Battlefield is always a winner and of course Twycross zoo, all finished off with a sweet treat from Gelato Village in St Martins Square.
Where can people find out more and book online?
You can find us on all the usual social media channels or visit our Mallory Meadows website. All our booking are done through Hoseasons.
