The revealing autobiography of former footballer Emile Heskey, written in collaboration with Leicester’s Dean Eldredge, is up for a national award.

One of Leicester’s favourite sons, he moved on from City to Liverpool in an £11 million deal, winning a total of eight trophies and over 60 England caps. Even Heskey Scored is the story of a largely unsung player, loved by his team-mates, who overcame fierce criticism to live the dream.

The book has been shortlisted for Autobiography of the Year at the Telegraph Sports Book Awards 2020, with the announcement of the winner being made on 15 July. Up against some stiff competition, Tyson Fury and Ben Stokes are among the others shortlisted for the prestigious annual award.
