dicp birthdaynight

Stuck for something to do this weekend? Don’t miss the all day garden party at The Soundhouse as one of Leicester’s leading independent promoters, Dreaming in Colour Productions, celebrate their first birthday.

Their birthday celebrations culminate in a special all day event at The Soundhouse on Saturday 13 August, complete with BBQ, live music across 2 stages and further entertainment. Half of the proceeds of this event will be donated to LSU (Love Support Unite) and the Leicester based charity The Tilinanu Orphanage, kicking off a partnership which will see Dreaming in Colour Productions pledge £6000 a year to the charity.

Dreaming in Colour Productions was launched in 2015 by Leicestershire entrepreneur Elisabeth Barker Carley (aged 25), whose passion for music and events saw her drive her experience with local venues forward into her own growing business. Now, just 1 year on, Dreaming in Colour Productions has their own office base complete with recording studio and rehearsal rooms on Leicester’s Humberstone Gate.

To celebrate the first birthday the company are hosting an all day event at The Soundhouse on Southampton Street on Saturday 13 August. With free entry for everyone until 6pm (£5 after) there will be a BBQ with live music across 2 stages, drinks deals and entertainment, all hosted by the fabulous drag act Miss Crystal. Many of the acts who are performing at the event have close connections with Dreaming in Colour Productions including Alex Van Roose, the frontman of Midnight Wire, who runs The Honey Label from Dreaming in Colour Productions’ headquarters. Other acts include Will Harding, Toby Joe Leonard, Jardine Wilson, Sonificade who are residents of Dreaming in Colour’s rehearsal rooms, Matt Peach, Arc Isla, high energy rock boys Beneath The Lights and the fantastic Drum n Bass mix of UK:ID.

Dreaming in Colour Productions Managing Director, Elisabeth Barker Carley, commented, “It’s been a wonderful 12 months for us and we want to celebrate with those who have helped to make our growing business come to life. We work closely with so many local artists and are proud to be huge supporters of our local music scene. Our all day birthday event is our chance to give something back to those people who have worked with us, come to our events and want to see the Leicester music scene flourish as much as we do. We have such exciting plans for the next 12 months and can’t wait to get started.”
