There’s a taste of Germany coming to Leicester as Döner Shack is set to open at Highcross.
If you’re thinking a kebab is just a kebab, at Döner Shack that couldn’t be further from the truth. They’re bringing their concept, based around creating the best kebabs, paired with fine German beer, in a cool but fast setting to Leicester, having already been a hit in Leeds and Manchester.
The menu will be based around kebabs, Currywurst, topped fries, salads and drinks selection including Bitburger on draught, Berliner Pilsner and a selection of softs and shakes.
Döner Shack are committed to challenging the status quo in kebabs and sustainability is a big focus. They challenged their suppliers to source products from farms they could trust. Ethically sourced and good quality meat shouldn’t be for a select few, it should be the norm and Döner Shack are setting a better standard for kebab restaurants all over the world.
Döner Shack wanted to source the best quality products they could find and worked closely with our chosen suppliers in Germany to ensure they work to the same ethics that the brand do.
With more than double the amount of lean meat compared to a standard UK kebab, it’s what is in the döner that counts. 85% lean veal and turkey with the right blend of spices, fats and herbs to make it the juiciest. It contains no artificial fillers or excessive oils. The chicken used for the chicken shawarma is free-range and gluten-free. As for the bread, they bake their sesame seed pida’s fresh on site everyday to a traditional Turkish recipe using authentic processes that we learned in partnership with bakeries in Germany.
Onto the drinks and Döner Shack serve German Bitburger on draught and all soft drinks are from Germany’s favourite, Fritz Kola, a company selected due to their high ethical stance.
