There’s more outdoor cinema fun heading to Leicester this summer as Leicestershire County Cricket Club announces screenings of Toy Story & Mamma Mia! as part of a double header outdoor cinema event on Saturday 21 August.
This will be the third year they’ve hosted an outdoor cinema event at the Uptonsteel County Ground following The Greatest Showman sold out screening in 2019. This year you have a choice with the perfect combination of either an afternoon classic family movie or an ABBA sing along under the stars!
The outdoor cinema will begin at 2pm when the Club will screen Toy Story under the sunshine (fingers crossed), with gates opening at 12:30pm, followed by the screening of Mamma Mia! screening at 7pm in the evening under the stars with gates opening at 5:30pm.
Gates will open 90 minutes prior to each film and you are invited to bring a picnic and a blanket or deck chairs as you sit back and relax on the unique cricket outfield with the film shown on the big screen.
If you don’t want to take your own picnic they will also be selling traditional cinema food and drink on site, so expect to see popcorn, hot dogs, a sweet stall and much more so you can enjoy the movie in style! There will also be children’s activities including a bouncy castle and face painting.
