With such a wonderful crop of creative talent it’s about time Leicester had its own Design Season. Today LCB Depot, the city’s creative hub, launched DS1, which runs from today right through until the end of October, celebrating some of the Cultural Quarter and wider city’s best design businesses.
From today until end of September you can stop by at LCB Depot to enjoy the LOOP exhibition in the Lightbox gallery, which showcases the city’s graphic design and illustration community, following a period of open submissions. Whilst this runs in the gallery the LCB Depot will welcome a range of other events throughout September. Looking ahead you can enjoy:
Saturday 8 September
Easy Saturdays – fun for all the family with graphic design and printing workshops running through the afternoon, as well as Grays coffee shop being open keeping you fed and watered.
Thursday 13 September
We Ar Tex – set to be a brilliantly vibrant night, We Ar Tex will bring together some of the city’s hidden creative gems as they look at what’s making waves in the fashion world. Find your new favourite bRand and enjoy drinks and music until 10pm.
17 – 23 September
GF Smith Papers Heritage Exhibition – The finest collection from the world of paper, discover the history and processes behind GF Smith’s renowned business
17 – 28 September
Tacit: Designer – Maker Showcase – A display from some of the Cultural Quarter and Leicester’s top fashion creatives, from Makers Yard and beyond.
Sunday 30 September
Graffwerk Street Art Tours – Discover the brilliant range of street art across Leicester with this tour from Graffwerks. Uncover the stories behind your favourite pieces and hidden pictures you’ve not yet found.
