Canteen returns to Market Harborough for September event

canteen

Leicester’s leading street food event specialists, Canteen, will be back on The Square in Market Harborough for their September event on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 September. You won’t want to miss this one for the full Canteen experience!

On both Friday and Saturday you can expect some of the best street food traders in the UK together with awesome drinks, entertainment and music, along with tables and seating to keep you there well into the evening! Hot off of winning the Highly Commended award at the recent Midland Food Drink & Hospitality Awards, Canteen is now a regular event in Harborough as they spread their wings through Leicestershire.

There’s more than street food on offer this weekend as on Friday you can also enjoy Harborough After Hours, which will see the town retailers staying open longer hours into the evening. Visit the shops for a little late night shopping and then visit Canteen to finish off your night.

On Friday DJ Fitz will be on hand to keep the party going as he comes in following his amazing 24 hour non-stop charity DJ set last week. Rolling into Saturday you can expect face painters for the children (and adults) during the day as well.

The Traders

The Rooster (Friday)

Coming from the same camp as Jade Rabbit, the rooster is their new chicken incarnation. Supplying their popular chicken burgers, famous chicken strips on fries and a whole host of other specials including chicken wings and vegan options.

That’s Mature (Friday & Saturday)

This couple spent 10 years between them in hospitality and then decided that they should embark on the world of street food together. Their grilled cheese concept has gone down a storm at recent events and they’re sure to be a big cheesy hit in Market Harborough.

Mistry Kitchen (Friday)

Varsha & Kirit recently returned to Leicestershire after spending an amazing 8 years in Sydney, where they successfully traded at various street food events. Their aim at Mistry Kitchen is to celebrate the food of colourful vegetables and plant protein to create delicious & nutritious Gujarati dishes with a modern twist. Making you feel good on the inside and out. All fo their dishes are vegan friendly and they have gluten free options too.

Platinum Pancakes (Friday)

One of the very first traders on the scene in the midlands – we love Anthony and his team whenever they come to local events. They offer a unique product using local ingredients of the highest quality and freshness. They serve their pancakes in a modern way with passion and flair. Watch out for their chocolate and boozy specials

Stripclub Streetfood (Saturday)

Tom Hope is a chef by trade and has recently embarked on his latest project which brings some of the very best burgers served from a quirky neon van. His meat is sourced from Aubrey Allen and his buns are from Peel and Stone butchers – just by looking at the photos of his burgers you can tell you are in for a treat. Fancy stacking your burger up to 5 patties? The option is available! His smiley faces are also a must!

That Smoketruck (Saturday)

You loved them so much last month (and they loved Harborough just as much) that they are back again! They will be bringing their amazing smoked ribs and wings, together with a whole host of specials. We have known Wayne and Nicky for a long time and are over the moon to have their wonderful truck back in Leicestershire.

Cookie Mumster (Saturday)

Another favourite for Harborough! They are back with their cookie goodness and have a new exciting menu including ice cream cookie sandwiches and loaded cookie dough. Options for vegans and gluten free products available.
