With the country in the grip of World Cup Fever, the Marriott are on hand to bring 2 of your favourite things together; rugby and burgers.
Yes, the hotel have teamed up with eight international rugby icons to design their favourite burgers and they’ll be battling it out throughout the tournament to see which proves the most popular.
The bugers will be in suqad rotation between now and the end of the tournament on 31 October so make sure you get down to the Leicester Marriott at Grove Park to try out as many as you can!
Highlights include the Irish entry from David Wallace, which consists of a sesame bun, pulled beef brisket, Guinness onion chutney, Jameson BBQ sauce, streaky bacon and iceberg lettuce. Or how about the South African entry from John Smit, who opted for beef burger, avocado, jalapeno, baby gem, cheddar and beef tomato?
We’ve already been down to sample the English and Welsh entries. With England battling it out with a wild boar burger and beetroot chutney, they put up an excellent fight, but just (much like the actual game) lost out to a slightly stronger Welsh side, who triumphed with their combination of burger and Welsh rarebit!
Not content just with the burgers, you can also wash it all down with a glass of Moet & Chandon, the perfect combination of burger and bubbles to enjoy the games with.
The Marriott at Grove Park is a lovely spot for lunch or a casual dinner in the bar area. With high cielings, glass fronted and lovely bar menu it certainly won’t be long until we’re back there. We even spied a footballer at reception!
