The Exchange Bar has long been a cornerstone of Leicester’s bar scene, whether it’s after work drinks or meeting up before the theatre.

We caught up with them to pick out some of their not to be missed upcoming events and activities.
Comedy
Yes, of course it’s Leicester Comedy Festival and The Exchange Bar has a packed programme of brilliant stand-up for you to enjoy. Check out the full listings via the Leicester Comedy Festival website. A large number of these shows are also Pay What You Want so won’t need to break the bank.
Other regular live events
Open Turn Table – A vinyl night where you can join in. Hosted by DJ Marlon Foster from The Basement Presents, you are invited to come pick a record and play. If it’s your first time you can even claim a free drink at the bar for taking part. Don’t miss it on the first Thursday of every month.
Open Mic – The Exchange Bar’s regular open mic event is hosted by Joey from T O Soul and takes place every Wednesday night. All welcome from rappers to saxophonists.
Tiny Gear – hosted by DJ Marlon Foster this is an open mic night for DJs with a difference. The only equipment you can bring is that you can fit in the backpack. Taking place on the last Wednesday of each month.
Live music – Yes, there’s live music to enjoy every Friday evening, with various artists such as Kenny Wilson and Alex Brodella.
CQ Lates – The Exchange Bar hosts the Cultural Quarter Lates after party each month with various DJs. Taking place every last Friday of the month and presented by After Hours.
The Candlelit Cabaret Night – Don’t miss this incredible live burlesque show taking place on the first Friday of every month.
Sound Bath Sessions – Taking place every second Monday and hosted by Marlon Foster from The Basement presents.
Food & Drink
As well as a fully stocked bar with an excellent range of beers, wines and spirits, The Exchange Bar also has a new enhanced food menu and regular deals.
Visiting during the day? You can enjoy a hot drink and pastry for just £5 every day. And do you have the Loyal Free app downloaded? If so, you can also enjoy your 10th alcoholic drink for free.
If you’re looking for a bite to eat before the theatre or when our with friends, check out their enhanced food menu with sharing boards, four different loaded fries options, pizza baguettes, chicken gougon wraps and a range of light bites.
