Following the government announcement earlier this week we can finally look forward to a route out of lockdown in Leicester and beyond.

As we approach the lifting of restrictions it’s more important than ever to support local businesses through this last period of lockdown. In this week’s BID Spotlight we’re looking at some of those essential retailers who are still open. First up, make sure you watch our latest video collaboration featuring some of these wonderful businesses.

The weather looks set to brighten up over the coming weeks and we can leave a bitter cold winter behind us. Evans Cycles on Humberstone Gate is open daily for all of your exercise and bike repair needs. If you are into cycling this store is an absolute must visit with a huge range of bikes and accessories.

Leicester Coffee House

Leicester Coffee House has stayed open throughout lockdown from the very beginning. Almost a year of restrictions and Gail and Tommo are still there daily keeping Leicester caffeinated. Pop in for a takeaway coffee and cake.

Leicester Market

For fresh local produce head down to Leicester Market, who have provided a brilliant service throughout lockdown. From fruit and veg and fresh seafood to top quality butchers and dairy items, the traders have been working hard to offer hampers and even home delivery too. Visit the Leicester Market website for information on the individual traders.
