If you’ve been in town shopping you might have noticed the brand new Cupp Bubble Tea, which is open now on East Gates, opposite the Highcross entrance.
The Leicester venue is the latest from the UK brand, Cupp, and they have hopes to make Leicester their flagship store. We caught up with Abdul to find out more for this week’s BID Spotlight.
How would you describe Cupp for anyone who hasn’t seen the new venue yet?
Cupp Bubble Tea is new to Leicester and we are the franchisees of the newest branch. I would describe the new venue as a fun and bubbly place where staff are friendly, the venue is inviting, and the products are amazing. We sell cold and hot bubble tea and also traditional coffee which is popular in the mornings.
What sets you apart from other Bubble Tea venues?
Products are freshly made on site, the menu is simple to understand and we have had many positive comments on the shop design and environment.
If we were visiting for the first time, what should we order?
Definitely the Brown Sugar Premium.
What inspired you to open Cupp?
There was a gap in the market for a Taiwanese concept with an English twist. The market is growing for bubble tea and we felt this is the right time to setup.
Talk us through some of your menu.
Our most popular range is the Brown Sugar Series however we have something for all customer tastes, from Fruit Teas to Milk Teas and combinations of Fruit & Milk Teas. Our Matcha series is also quite popular with its slow caffeine release through out the day, customer seem to be enjoying this.
If someone had never tried bubble tea before, how would describe it?
A cold flavoured beverage with a choice of either Tapioca Pearls (has many names -> boba tea, pearl milk tea, boba milk tea, bubble milk tea, or simply boba) or fruit flavoured popping bubbles (children really enjoy this).
You’re located right in the middle of town, opposite Highcross, what’s your favourite thing about your location?
It’s a vibrant busy location where every day brings something new and someone new to the store. We like meeting and chatting with customers from all over Leicester but have many international customer from Far East, Middle East and America. And even better, they keep coming back for more
What plans do you have for Cupp in 2022?
We have plans to open many more stores in 2022 and wanted to make Leicester the flagship store as this is our home town.
Where can people find out more (social media accounts/website etc)?
