TwentyTwenty are a Leicestershire based charity who are building bright futures for young people. Now it’s your chance to get involved as spaces are now available on the Prima Solutions TwentyTwenty Challenge, which is set to be the ultimate corporate fundraising event.

Taking place on 28 September at the beautiful Rutland Water, the TwentyTwenty Challenge is about getting together with friends and colleagues, accepting an incredible challenge, using team-work to get through it together and, of course, doing it all for a fantastic cause!

So what do you have to do? As a team of 2 to 4 people, you will each cover a full or half marathon distance. For the full marathon you will cycle 30km, walk or run 10km & canoe 2km, whilst half marathon participants will cycle 10km, walk or run 10km and canoe 1km. There will also be 3-4 fun team activities along the routes to keep you on your toes.

Together, you’ll set a pace that’s right for you, some will be sprinting the whole event, others will spend time enjoying the scenery, but the speed isn’t important. The day is guaranteed to be an adrenaline packed & satisfying day out for the whole office and you’ll know that whilst doing it you’re supporting a wonderful Midlands charity.

Christian Zamore, Community fundraiser at TwentyTwenty, commented, “Funding has become more and more challenging to secure so we have had to become more creative at raising funds to support the most disadvantaged and disengaged young people across Leicestershire and Derbyshire. The TwentyTwenty Challenge was created to raise crucial funds, increase our network of business contacts, and to increase the awareness of the work TwentyTwenty do with young people.”

In their work Twenty Twenty believe that no matter what challenges a young person has faced or is still facing, with the right help, they can develop the confidence, personal resources and skills to move forward in their education and find sustainable employment.

Christian added, “It really is a fun but challenging way for teams to bond and overcome a challenge while raising money for disadvantaged young people. The event covers a half or full marathon distance which is a challenge in itself but with 4 exciting and fun team activities to complete along the way. Participants will have an amazing time while supporting your local young people!”

The challenge is now in its 4th year having started in 2016 with 60 participants. Melanie Waldron from Embrace U Consultancy has already signed up to take part in this year’s event.

“As a volunteer mentor I’m a huge supporter of the work TwentyTwenty does. The challenge is a brilliant idea for businesses and their employees to challenge themselves and have fun whilst know they’re helping such a worthy cause. I’m really looking forward to taking part this year!”
