Leicester’s independent scene is packed full of wonderful shops, bars, cafes, restaurants, music venues, makers and more. Now BID Leicester and partners have launched a new campaign to highlight the independent community and encourage consumers to shop and eat local. Plus there’s an opportunity to win some brilliant prizes.

Using the slogan of “We’re in” businesses are encouraged to display the logo in their windows so customers know which businesses are independent as they pass by, encouraging more local support. In addition, there will be a dedicated website with full listing of the city’s independent businesses, social media channels and full advertising campaign.

To celebrate the launch there is an ‘Independents Weekend’ running this weekend across 28 and 29 September. If you have the LoyalFree app downloaded you’ll be able to check out some great deals and show support for the We’re in campaign. There will also be events taking place including Chocolate Tasting at Gelato Village.
