The summer may be drawing to an end but there’s time for one more city centre festival, as Brew Beat takes over Jubilee Square from 30 August – 1 September.

A completely free event to visit for the whole family, Brew Beat promises a weekend packed with live music, craft beers, street food and entertainment for all ages. With over 30 musical acts, craft beers from more than 10 national and local breweries, and a fantastic lineup of local street food vendors, Brew Beat will be the highlight of your summer.

In fact, you won’t even need to worry about the weather. Keep an eye out for TheMusicLicence who will be giving away free ponchos at Jubilee Square on Saturday and Sunday, just incase it dares to rain.

Brew Beat sees Leicester’s musical pioneers, HQ, join together with craft beer specialists, Real Ale Classroom, to curate a line-up sure to tantalise your ears as well as your taste buds. The event is brought to you by BID Leicester, with additional support from Arch Creative, TheMusicLicence, De Montfort University and Octopus Energy.

Drinks

During the event you can quench your thirst with Brew Beat’s hand-picked selection of craft beers, cocktails and more! This year the craft beer bar will be hosted by new partners, The Real Ale Classroom, and you can expect over 10 local and national breweries – meaning there’s a pint for everyone! From NEIPAs to lagers, sours to stout, and everything in between, there will be a chance to sip old favourites and to discover something new.

Not a beer lover? No worries! There’ll be soft drinks, ciders, gin, fizz, and cocktails available. Audrey’s cocktail bar will be serving up their signature Brew Beat cocktails, while Bar 33 Cank Street will be on hand with their Alcoholic Slushies and Aperol Spritz bar.

Food

You won’t need to leave Jubilee Square to satisfy your tastebuds at Brew Beat. Sink your teeth into local independent pizzeria, Dough What, with their Neapolitan and deep dish pizzas, or enjoy traditional Caribbean flavours from King Street newbie, Rum & Spice. City centre favourites, Giggling Squid will also be there and bringing bold Thai flavours to Brew Beat! Enjoy everything from spicy curries and stir-fries to delicious Thai tapas.

Music

Brew Beat’s 2024 lineup is packed with amazing acts from Leicester and beyond, with over 20 hours of free live music programmed across the weekend!

Expect a mix of returning favourites and fresh faces, with DJs, bands, and artists covering every genre. From Hip Hop to Funk, Soul to Jazz, RnB to Indie, Pop to Electronic, we’ve got something for everyone’s musical taste.

Performances run from 5-10pm on Friday, 12-10pm on Saturday, and 12-7pm on Sunday.

Afterparties

The fun doesn’t stop when the main stage closes at 10 pm!

Official after-parties will keep the beats going and the drinks flowing all night long. Local venues will be hosting their own live music, featuring limited craft beers and special drinks menus. Keep an eye on the Brew Beat Instagram for updates on where to go after the main action finishes.
