Just because we’re all at home doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy some of the traditions of Easter. Leicestershire’s finest chocolatiers, Cocoa Amore, are on hand to make sure your Easter is still chocolate-filled.

We caught up with them for this week’s BID Spotlight to find out more about their Easter eggs, gifts and other chocolatey gifting ideas.

How has life been at Cocoa Amore since the lockdown period began?

We’re very lucky in that, because we’re a small company, we were able to adapt to the changes and daily updates from the Government quickly. We have had to be innovative and develop chocolatey treats which are easily delivered in the post. We didn’t want to deprive our customers from having their favourite chocolate just because we couldn’t open our doors to them.

With only a couple of members working in the shop to process online orders coming in and one chocolatier making up more stock, it’s been quite unusual seeing the team shrink down for the time being. We are working hard to keep up with the demand but we are also so thrilled to see the vast amount of support from our customers and the following has only grown!

What range of gifts do you have available for Easter?

We’ve got our medium Milk and Dark Chocolate boxed Easter Eggs at £10 which are finished with a touch of gold and bronze. They’re beautiful!

As well as that, another favourite, is our Easter Egg halves filled with 8 handmade chocolates at £9.50. A very popular choice for those with kids.

Milk and Dark Chocolate solid Easter Bunnies at £4 each or included in our 3 for £10 Mix & Match range.

And a brand new product we’ve released is the ‘It’s Not A Creme Egg’ Chocolate Bar. Milk or Dark filled with a oozy fondant-cream.

Just how good are your Easter Eggs?

Some people say they’re eggcelent but I think they’re simply irresistible! Our 40% Milk Chocolate Eggs are creamy and smooth. Whereas our 70% Dark Chocolate Eggs are rich and flavoursome.

You’re also doing make your own truffle kits and other things for fun at home, have these proved popular so far?

They have sold incredibly well so far. People seem to have really got behind the idea and wanted to create at home.

We were really keen to have our customers engage with us still even though they can’t come in our shop. Cocoa Amore is all about the experience so we’re just delighted they can share this in families at home.

When should people order by to guarantee Easter delivery?

With just a small team working at the moment processing orders and Royal Mail delivering in 3-4 days, so I’d say no later than Monday 6th April. Just to be safe, incase anything out of our control changes and the postal service has delays, sooner rather than later!

What are you most looking forward to when this is all over?

Being able to have our loyal and supporting customers back into our shops. Just to be able to share our love of chocolate again, showcase our new products and ideas properly. Having the entire team back together will be fantastic and definitely a celebration is needed the day we can reopen!
