We’ve taken the first step along the roadmap out of lockdown and from this week you’re able to meet one other person for a coffee or picnic outside.
With many coffee shops and food spots in Leicester staying open during this time, in this week’s BID Spotlight we’re looking at a few of the places you could visit with friends as part of a walk with coffee or for your picnic plans.
Holly’s Coffee Shop
Holly’s on St Martin’s is a wonderful independent spot with a lovely menu of freshly prepared food as well as hot and cold drinks. We especially love their Halloumi and Avocado Salad. Open on Fridays and Saturdays for takeaway.
St Martin’s Coffee
This one needs no introduction. St Martin’s Coffee is open Wednesday – Sunday with some of Leicester’s finest coffees and they’ve also got a tasty grilled cheese menu on offer at the moment, including a breakfast option which looks incredible. Find them in St Martin’s Square. Food served from 10am – 2pm.
Bru
If you’re planning a walk up London Road to Victoria Park why not swing by Bru and pick up a coffee and some dessert treats? As the weather gets warmer they also have a great range of ice cream shakes (including our favourite cinnamon one!). Enjoy coffees, smoothies, iced tea, grilled cheese, bagels, waffles, cookie dough and more. Bru is open 7 days a week.
Leicester Coffee House
Just up the road from Bru is Leicester Coffee House. With in house roasted coffee, homemade cakes, savoury treats and everyone’s favourite dog in the city, Tommo, it’s another must visit if you’re on your way out of town heading towards London Road.
200 Degrees
The popular spot on Market Street is open 7 days a week for when you’re passing through town. Head down for takeaway coffees, baguettes, cakes and traybakes.
Healthy Louisa
This vegetarian and vegan cafe is open Tuesday – Sunday for juices, smoothies, coffees and super healthy lunch bowls. Open from 11am – 5pm. Find them on Belgrave Gate.
