One of the main talking points of Christmas time is the festive food specials. This year is no different with some tasty festive treats across the city centre.
In this week’s BID Spotlight we’re taking a look at some of the festive lunches you can enjoy in town.
St Martin’s Coffee
Get this at the top of your Christmas sandwich list! Available at St Martin’s Coffee it contains sous vide turkey OR braised field mushroom, peppercorn jus mayo, cranberry ketchup, sage and onion stuffing, tater tots, and pink pickled onion served in focaccia.
Pizza Punks
Christmas dinner, but on a pizza. Don’t miss the festive specials at Pizza Punks this year. The Punkmas Dinner pizza is topped with homemade gravy base, shredded mozzarella and succulent roast turkey, complete with confit garlic sprouts, sweet honey roast carrots and a spicy nduja stuffing, complete only with a Christmas favourite – pigs in candied blankets. For the non meat-eaters there’s also a vegan option of this tasty special available too. Christmas dinner pizza not your thing? Why not just go for everyone’s favourite, pigs in blankets, and just load them up? Their Pigs in Blankets pizza is also available for the whole festive period.
Turtle Bay
Add some festive flavour to your cocktails with Christmas at Turtle Bay. This year all Christmas bookings will receive a free festive cocktail on arrival, as they’re serving up Jingle Bird cocktails (dark rum, cinnamon, falernum, pineapple juice and bitters). After your cocktail tuck into 2 or 3 courses with Crispy Chilli Squid, Jerk Salmon, Mo’Bay Chicken & more.
The Rutland & Derby
The Street Food Collective at The Rutland & Derby never disappoint with their festive specials. Of course they’re offering up a Christmas burger, with their Pluk’in Bootiful Burger – Breaded sage & onion turkey escalope, mozzarella, shredded lettuce, sprout slaw, HOT AS PLU*K sauce mayo & pig in blanket. But also, don’t miss their festive poutine! The Christmas in Quebec Poutine features thyme salted french fries, mozzarella & brie, pulled turkey, honey roasted pigs in blankets, turkey gravy & cranberry sauce (gfa).
My Delhi
Looking to combine a curry and Christmas? My Delhi’s Christmasala menu is here to do just that! Enjoy 3 courses for just £19.95 at lunchtime, or £24.95 in the evening. Menu highlights include Tandoori Stuffing Balls to start, followed by their own spin on Christmas dinner with the Shahi Royal Roulade – Tandoori stuffed chicken roulade or a traditional, rich, creamy and Saffron infused korma sauce.
