The Best Bar None scheme is back for 2025.
In partnership with Leicestershire Police, Leicester City Council Licensing and Leicester City Watch, BID Leicester launched the Best Bar None scheme in Leicester in 2023. The scheme involves venues being assessed on their industry standards, to help ensure a high standard of safety and service at venues across Leicester.
For businesses, this gives them an opportunity to develop staff, build confidence and set a benchmark for good practice and promoting excellence. For customers, the scheme offers confidence in Leicester as a safe place to enjoy socialising, and allows you to select the venues you visit based on their accreditation status.
2024 saw the second year of the scheme and BBN awards in Leicester. The primary purpose is to promote excellence in the licensed trade, leading to a more enjoyable, safer experience for the customer and more collaboration between partners. It’s also an opportunity to celebrate quality operators.
Supported by the Home Office and industry trade bodies, the BBN scheme aims to reward licensees who have the correct policies and procedures in place to prove that they are safe, responsible, and well-operated.
