BID Leicester has announced that they, in partnership with Leicestershire Police, Leicester City Council and Leicester City Watch, will be launching the Best Bar None Scheme in the city in 2023.

Best Bar None (BBN) is a voluntary national assessment and accreditation scheme that awards and recognises well-run alcohol-licenced premises based on national standards of best practice.

The scheme intends to promote excellence in the licensed trade, leading to a more enjoyable, safer experience for the customer and more collaboration between partners. It’s also an opportunity to celebrate quality bars and venues in Leicester.

Supported by the home office and industry trade bodies, the scheme aims to reward licensees who have the correct policies and procedures in place to prove that they are safe, responsible, and well-operated.

Venues will be supported through the process, which involves an independent assessor visit and culminates with an area awards evening.

Premises participating in the Best Bar None awards scheme and that gain accreditation are awarded the Best Bar None recognition plaque. They can also be awarded the best premises in their category and win an award alongside their accreditation.

As well as the benefits to premises, visitors and residents also receive a huge benefit of the BBN scheme, as they can enjoy a more welcoming, attractive, lively, and safer place to visit and live.

Applications will be launching in 2023, however if you’re a venue owner or manager and would like to find out more about Best Bar None or make an early expression of interest, you can get all the details on the BID Leicester website.
