The sunshine has finally landed so where can you enjoy a cold drink outside in the city centre? Here are a few of our favourite spots for an al fresco beverage this summer.

BRUXELLES
High Street, Leicester

Tucked away at the back of Bruxelles their Hendrick’s Gin Garden can be accessed via the downstairs bar and is one of Leicester’s very best outdoor spaces. For Happy Hours running every day, BBQs, a huge range of special Belgian beers, sumptuous cocktails, DJs until 3am on the weekends and lazy Sunday afternoons, it’s an absolute must visit in the middle of town.

THE ATTIC AT THE COOKIE
High Street, Leicester

The Attic LeicesterAnother hidden gem is the fab little terrace outside The Attic on High Street. The Attic is about to celebrate their first birthday of bringing fantastic cocktails to the upstairs floor at one of Leicester’s coolest hang outs, The Cookie. Not sure what to have? We recommend the Bloom Gin & Tonic with fresh strawberries from Leicester Market.

THE RUTLAND & DERBY
Millstone Lane, Leicester

rutland & derby terraceHere’s one a few of you might be familiar with. We love the outdoor space at The Rutland & Derby, with plenty of seating and the additional roof terrace up the spiral staircase, this is a spot you can sit in for hours in the sunshine. Great craft ales & ciders with a menu of locally sourced food, it’s a summer must visit. Remember not to head down on a Sunday though as they close every week.

THE QUEEN OF BRADGATE
High Street, Leicester

queen of bradgate leicesterYet another hidden away gem on Leicester’s High Street. You can enjoy Queen of Bradgate’s great menu options alongside your drinks in their garden at the back of the venue. With brightly coloured furniture and it’s positioning as a real sun trap this is the kind of garden you start in at 2 in the afternoon and find you’re still there at 11 at night.

THE KINGS HEAD
King Street, Leicester

The 2015 CAMRA Pub of the Year is one we’ve written about before here at Cool As Leicester. Their roof terrace is tucked away on New Walk and with an outdoor TV and outdoor bar it’s the perfect spot for this summer’s Euros. Our favourite part? You can take in your own food or order a Deliveroo to be delivered to you at the pub and they’ll even provide you with plates and cutlery. What more could you want?

THE SOUNDHOUSE
Southampton Street, Leicester

soundhouse leicester
One of Leicester’s best live music venues has spruced up their garden for summer with the fantastic outside artwork by Si Mitchell. The venue have even installed an outdoor garden stage for summer afternoon and evening acoustic performances making it a must visit venue this summer.
