This week our Leicester beer garden tour takes us to one of our long term favourites, The Pug & Greyhound in Great Glen.

Occupying a lovely spot on the village green, The Pug & Greyhound prides itself on being a proper British pub, but with a few special quirks as well. You can expect quality food, a great range of drinks, homely surroundings and it’s super dog friendly. How could you have a pub with pug in the name and it not be dog friendly?

As for the beer garden, well they’ve totally smashed this one. The garden features a fantastic outdoor bar serving cocktails, beers and wines and is a perfect summertime spot. If gin is more your thing then you can start making your way through almost 20 different gins they have on their drinks menu.

And let’s not forget the starring role of the goats and donkeys in the pub garden too! Perfect to keep the kids entertained.

Of course all eyes at the moment are on 12 April and The Pug & Greyhound will be bringing back their heated marquee offering a warm and dry garden setting for you to enjoy right from the off. There’ll be a bar in the marquee and you can grab a table for both food or just drinks.

In normal times the pub menu features epic homemade scotch eggs, stone baked pizza, great burgers and a mix of small plates and pub classics. They’ll be serving a limited menu when they open in April through to when indoor dining begins in May.

They won’t be taking any bookings, just pop down and grab a table.

They’ll be open from 12 April onwards. Follow The Pug & Greyhound on Facebook for the latest news or visit their website.

Find them at 14 London Road, Leicester, LE8 9GF.
