This week’s Leicestershire beer garden tour takes us over to The Oat Hill in Market Harborough.

Situated a few minutes walk from Market Harborough Train Station, The Oat Hill is one you can pop into for a pint and a cocktail or enjoy a beautiful meal in the restaurant or garden. The inside of the pub is excellent with art deco theming around the bar and restaurant with sumptuous, leather wrapped Chesterfield sofas to sink into, right next to the roaring open fire, but it’s the fabulous sculpted gardens we’re here to look at today.

The attractive rear area is split into a large garden area and also a side patio, both of which offer lovely settings to enjoy a drink and meal al fresco. Furthermore, as of May Bank Holiday weekend they’ve also just opened their outside bar making beer and cocktail service to the garden even quicker.

If you’re coming down for a drink at the pub then it’s worth staying for food. Whether you go for the Fritto Seafood Platter, Beef & Stilton Croquettes, Tiger Prawn Linguine, Wild Boar Burger or the Arancini Burger, we don’t think you’ll be disappointed. The menu is fabulous from steaks to their special vegan menu too.

Before lockdown The Oat Hill had done a number of wonderful themed events, including turning the garden into a Wonka themed extravaganza, so keep an eye out for more such things coming soon.

Family friendly and dog friendly. If you’re drinking then why not just jump on the train from Leicester and make a day of it?

Bookings are advisable. See the full menu and book online via The Oat Hill website.
