This week’s Leicestershire Beer Garden of the Week tour takes us nearer to town and to one of our favourite, The Marquis Wellington.
The Marquis is on London Road and has a brilliant garden space at the back, making it an ideal spot to start your evening, to pass away a lazy Sunday, or to head to for lunchtime food and drinks.
There are a number of wooden “beach hut” style spaces each of which have their own heaters and seat a group of 6. Plus they’ve also put a marquee covering over the other tables meaning there is plenty of seating available, all of which is under cover.
The menu is full of good hearty food, from hot lunchtime baguettes to burgers, pies and pub classics. They also do a pretty nice Sunday lunch!
Ordering is done via an app or table service for those who prefer it or can’t access it on their phones. They pub was taking bookings, however due to a series of no-shows they are now offering walk-in tables only.
