Are you or a youngster you know keen to pick up some new skateboarding skills? Don’t miss the Girls Skate Jam in Leicester this bank holiday weekend.
Girls Skate Leicester is a community set up for girls/womxn skaters across Leicester. This weekend they’re hosting their first ever event and it’s a great opportunity to pick up some expert tips.
Skate Jam takes place at Southfields Skatepark in Loughborough on Saturday 28 August. On the day you can enjoy skate coaching by a SkateGB coach plus the chance to win prizes, with competitions sponsored by local businesses in Leicester.
All abilities are welcome, with training available for absolute beginners and then competitions across a range of ability levels.
Mel, who runs Girls Skate Leicester, commented, “All wheels, abilities, ages and marginalised genders are welcome. This is our first outdoor event and we’re hoping to see as many old and new faces as possible from Leicester and the surrounding cities.”
The event runs from 12pm-6pm on Saturday 28 August at Southfields Skatepark, Loughborough. Entry is free and there’ll be a healthy buffet available for participants (free of charge). The event has been sponsored by Skate Parlour, Magic Toast, JaminSkateboardVibes, JT Board Designs and Peacocks Prints.
