Admiral Sporting Goods Co is a new line of premium menswear from the legendary sportswear brand Admiral. Now, you might now associate Admiral from their football design work, but before that they spent half a century supplying sporting items to the military, athletes, schools and colleges, all of which was done from their base here in Leicester, in Wigston.
So really it only seems fitting that the new Admiral Sporting Goods Co collection pays homage to the brand’s illustrious Leicester past. They’ve redesigned classic sportswear pieces, inspired by pre-1966 styles, and updated them for modern times. Furthermore they’re named after some of Leicester’s most well known suburbs.
Composed of heavyweight loopback cotton hoodies, authentic V-notch sweatshirts, cut and sew t-shirts, an indigo-dyed training shirt and various accessories, each of the pieces in this collection blend the craftsmanship of the past with the manufacturing expertise of the future.
The collections includes the Admiral Wigston Sweatshirt, the Welford Rugby Shirt, the Admiral Aylestone T-shirt, the Admiral Beaumont Training Shirt and the Admiral Braunstone Hoodie.
In keeping with its Leicester roots, Admiral have also partnered with Leicester’s Wellgosh as a launch partner for the range.
With their heritage in making garments specifically for sporting pursuits for well over 100 years, this new collection shows that quality sportswear is now also a key part of the menswear landscape.
