If you live locally to Groby, you’re in for a treat as this popular pub is currently undergoing renovations to build a new on site deli and tapas bar.
The Stamford Arms in Groby is set to unveil the new additions to the site in November, with a daytime deli and café space that will turn into a tapas bar in the evenings. The new development will not affect the hugely popular food service that is currently offered inside the pub, but will be replacing the outdoor bar area in their garden.
A joint venture between Everards and the pub’s management, Justin and Wayne, the development has seen £500,000 invested into the pub. The pub is also currently undergoing a recruitment drive for staff across the new site, with the management keen to offer employment to those from the local area.
As the final touches are put to the new development, the pub will close from 27 October – 7 November to prepare for the opening.
Landlord, Justin Bowles, commented, “We’re really excited about the development plans at The Stamford Arms. The new space will incorporate a deli and coffee shop serving a daytime menu, then in the evenings will become Yamas tapas bar, serving a pan-Mediterranean menu. We’ve been working alongside Everards to create something unique and exciting for the area, and look forward to welcoming our regulars and new customers to see the development when it opens in November.”

The Stamford Arms will re-open with its new look and deli launch event on Thursday 6 November, before full opening the following day. Yamas tapas restaurant will follow later in the month, from 20 November, with evening service Thursday – Saturday.
The Stamford Arms is currently recruiting for full and part-time deli assistants, waiting staff, bar staff and cleaning staff. Those interested should email their CV and cover letter to [email protected].
