As part of this year’s An Indian Summer festival, acclaimed British Indian musician, Nitin Sawhney is coming to Curve on Sunday 23 July.

Among multiple international awards throughout his career, Nitin Sawhney was the recipient of the Ivor Novello Lifetime Achievement award in 2017. The upcoming performance at Curve will be celebrating his latest album Immigrants released in 2021, along with performances of tracks from his forthcoming album Identity – to be released in October this year – and tracks from his acclaimed back catalogue.

Sawhney is an accomplished guitarist, pianist and composer taking influences from Indian and Spanish music along with blues, soul and electronica, redefining our perception of identity through the universal music of language. He will be joined by his stellar line-up of musicians, including Eos Counsell (Violin), Aref Durvesh (Tabla/Dholak), Shapla Salique (Vocals) and YVA (Vocals).

This special concert is part of Inspirate’s flagship festival, An Indian Summer, happening in Leicester on Sunday 23 July. An Indian Summer celebrates the shared culture between South Asia and the UK, bringing a unique and contemporary blend of South Asian arts, culture and food to Curve and Orton Square for the day.

The festival will include outdoor cinema, dance, workshops, performance, street food, outdoor bars and more.
