Boden-event

One of the biggest names in mail-order clothes and accessories for all the family is coming to Bruntingthorpe for one of its special two-day sales open to the public.  Boden, which has a large warehouse adjacent to Junction 21 of the M1 at Leicester, only has one shop in the UK, based in London,  so it holds its special sales in various locations around the country.

Caroline Nevile, events manager for Boden, which was established in 1991, says their previous event at the proving ground and airfield was very successful.  “We were based in Bruntingthorpe’s new Hangar ’42 exhibition facility which, at the time, was not fully opened.  But the sale still went extremely well.  So we are delighted to be using this superb facility again now that it is fully up and running.  It offers us so much space that we’ll be able to bring as much stock as the trucks can carry!

She says that massive savings – as much as 70% – will be offered on some items on Wednesday March 9th and Thursday 10th March when the Boden sale at Bruntingthorpe is open to all.  “The doors open at 10am on both days.  But on Wednesday, day one, we are remaining open until 7pm to allow those people at work during the day to pop in and pick up some bargains.  The following day we will close the doors at 4pm.

Mrs Nevile says many shoppers will not have seen Hangar ’42 in its completed state.  “It was only formally opened in September by Councillor Blake Pain, leader of Harborough District Council and Leicestershire County Council cabinet member with responsibility for tourism and economic development.  The venue has its own large car park and superb facilities.  And visitors do not have to go through the proving ground’s main-entrance security gate.  They can park right outside Hangar ’42.”

Paul Atkin, General Manager for Business Development at Bruntingthorpe, says the Boden sale is just one of the many events booked for Hangar ’42 in the coming months.  “But what makes it so pleasing for us is that many of our neighbours and residents in local communities will be able to come along and grab a bargain.  Of course there are no restrictions on who can attend.  But we do like to see our friends and neighbours benefiting from an event such as this at Bruntingthorpe.  Many locals attended the 2014 sale and we hope that even more will take the opportunity to drop in on either day this year.
