We’re big fans of The Attic based upstairs at The Cookie. Anywhere that can whip up an Avocado Margarita has us pretty much hooked! Now it’s time to celebrate as The Attic will be marking their first birthday this weekend by holding a first birthday party on Saturday 18 June with DJ sets and drink samples throughout the day and evening.

The Attic has been a welcome addition to The Cookie and offers an innovative cocktail menu put together by Owner, Xander Driver. Summer’s certainly on its way with favourites including the Bloom Gin and Tonic, complimented with fresh English strawberries and locally sourced mint from Leicester Market, or if you fancy a bit more bite to your cocktail then you can opt for their Avocado Margarita! A blend of, El Jimador blanco tequila, Giffards triple sec, lime juice, grapefruit bitters, agave syrup, and fresh avocado topped with chilli flakes, Hawaiian black salt, and nachos.

With their tucked away outdoor terrace it’s the perfect summer spot. Owner, Xander Driver, added, “It’s been a great first year at The Attic and we’re looking forward to a busy summer. We’ve recently launched some new, quite different cocktails on the menu, which have been really well received and there’ll be a chance to sample those at the birthday event.

Adding to the celebrations, The Kitchen at The Cookie is also celebrating their first 6 months and are launching their new summer menu. Their fresh homemade menu has been a hit on the High Street since launching in January and customers are in for a treat with new items including Salt Beef Hash, Sweet Potato and Halloumi Burger and Chorizo Melt.

Nicky Towarianskyj, owner at The Kitchen, commented, “It’s been a busy first six months since launching in January. The food scene is booming in Leicester at the moment and we’re delighted to be part of the exciting developments in the city. We pride ourselves on using fresh local ingredients and that certainly won’t change. Our new summer menu will continue to offer the same quality lunches, snacks and meals that our customers have come to expect and enjoy.”

Both The Attic and The Kitchen are based within The Cookie, which is best known for being one of Leicester’s premiere live music and comedy venues featuring regular acts in the downstairs basement.

The Attic’s birthday celebrations will take place on Saturday 18 June from 3pm with DJ McKenzie and DJ Eruchie, plus tasters and drinks offers running all day.
